Oldie But A Goodie

Hello so today I am going to bring you some information on an an old scam that seems to still scam innocent people. From believing that there dealing with honest upstanding citizens.

As you know there are hundreds of scams everyday they come up with something creative. So here’s one for the books. It starts off with an email about a family that is currently moving to your town or area.

He begins by telling you that there in need of someone to prepare the property/home upon  there arrival such as groceries, linen, etc, etc, The wage for this project is $400.00 per week.

And if agreed to the contract he will Fed Express you a check with a sum of $1800.00. Here’s the catch so they proceed to tell you that $800.00 is yours and the other $1000.00 is to be either mailed back to them or deposited into your account.

In which time they will ask for the remainder. The trick is the check is a counterfeit most of the time they don’t make it past the deposit of the banks fraud dept. Sometimes they make it all the way to your acct.

Eventually it ends up with you having a debt of $1800.00 plus all the other charges that come from cashing a bad check.( Nightmare! )Basically an old scam with a new twist. There are so many different types of scams.

My next post is going to be about the scams and frauds targeting the elderly. Morally and Unethical practices that truly hurt the economy and small business owners like myself.

Hopefully this article gives you some insight as to how far these scammers will go to screw you out of your time ,trust, and most importantly your wallet. If you have any questions please feel free to leave me a comment or a complaint I would truly appreciate it Thank you.

  1. Hi Poncho,
This is a terrible scam, but thank you for sharing it so that I could be more aware. You really have to be diligent about getting and learning all the facts before you give away your money. It’s a scary world out there, but people like you help to make it a little less scary. Thank you.
